Product description:
The rose trellis is made of octagonal robinia rods measuring 3 x 3 cm.
This is a wooden rose trellis (robinia wood).
The rods form a grid of 26 x 26 cm (center measurement). The height is measured without the "legs" that extend into the ground.
The robinia rods that make up the rose trellis are refined through deep varnishing with pure linseed oil. In this process, the varnish is absorbed into the wood surface, not just applied. Therefore, the varnish cannot flake off over time. Deep varnishing further enhances the extraordinary durability of the robinia wood.
The rose trellis is delivered as a kit - vertical rods, horizontal rods, and stainless steel countersunk screws. The vertical rods are pointed at the bottom. The ends of the horizontal rods have a U-shape.
When screwing the horizontal rods to the vertical rods, ensure that the countersinks in the holes of the vertical rods are on the outside, so that the screw heads are sunk into the rod after tightening the screws.
If the rose trellis has more than two vertical rods, the horizontal rods are offset in height by 6 cm, as shown in the illustrations.
When inserting the rose trellis into the ground, it should not be overly strained. Please press or tap the rose trellis evenly into the ground; if you are driving it in, please apply only light blows in succession to all vertical rods.
The easiest and most beautiful way to insert it is by using our robinia-pro earth drill for cordless screwdrivers (see illustrations), which you can also purchase here in the shop. You place the rose trellis on the ground and mark the spots where you need to drill. After you have made all the drill holes with the earth drill, you insert the rose trellis. Now you just need to align it and press the soil down well.
The specified height of the ROSE TRELLIS is measured between the lower edge of the lowest horizontal rods and the upper edge of the highest horizontal rods of the ROSE TRELLIS, meaning this is the height of the ROSE TRELLIS itself.
How deep the vertical foot rods, which are screwed laterally to the vertical main rods, should go into the ground depends on how hard/firm the soil is, how much lateral load acts on the ROSE TRELLIS, especially wind load, and what height above ground is desired.
At most, the foot rods can go 50 cm into the ground. However, this will only be utilized in extreme cases, perhaps in sandy soil at the stormy North Sea.
Under average conditions, a depth of about 30 cm is sufficient. Then the upper edge of the ROSE TRELLIS will be about 20 cm higher above ground than the specified height of the ROSE TRELLIS.
If the widest rose trellis from our range is not sufficient for your purpose, you can widen it as desired by assembling two or even more rose trellises from our range (same grid) into a single wider one. You simply continue on one side with horizontal rods (the holes for this in the vertical rods are generally present). Then comes another vertical rod, and so on. In the end, there will be one vertical rod left, which you will surely find a use for.
